The palace, illuminated with 97,000 lights, turns into a glorious spectacle at dusk on Sundays and public holidays. It is arguably the most visited palace in India. Later visit to the Brindavan Gardens which is located 12 k.ms from the city of Mysore in the Mandya District of the Indian State of Karnataka. After breakfast explore Mysore with your chauffer - Proceed to the Mysore zoo which has now spread over an area of 250 acres was initially meant for the exclusive visit of the royal family but public entry started as early as 1920. After that, proceeds to Chamundi Hills where the famous Chamundeswari temple is situated which is about 3,489 ft. above sea level and located at a distance of 13 Kms. from Mysore. After breakfast, proceeds to Chickmagalur. Enroute visit to Sravanbelogola. Shravanabelagola is an important Jain pilgrimage Centre in South Karnataka. Shravanabelagola is home to the 18 m high statue of Lord Gomateshwara; considered to be one of the world’s tallest free-standing monolithic statues. Constructed in 981 AD by Chamundaraya, a Ganga warrior, it is carved out of a single block of granite and looms on the top of Vindhyagiri Hill. It is visible up to 30 km away. There are nearly 700 steps hewn in the rock-face which must be climbed to have a close-up view of this colossal magic. Later proceeds to Chickmagalur. One of the most serene and picturesque destinations of the state, Chikmagalur should definitely be on your to visit list. Situated at a height of 3400 feet, this hill station will never cease to impress you. Once a melting pot of different cultures, even today Chikmagalur has always welcomed different faiths. After breakfast, proceeds for a Full day excursion to Belur & Halebeedu. Visit the two famous Hoysala temples at Belur and Halebeedu. The temple in Belur is dedicated to Lord Chennakesava and the construction commenced in 1116 A.D. and took 103 years to complete. The Hoysaleswara temple in Halebeedu has two shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva – Hoysaleswara and Shanteleswara. The open air museum in the temple premises displays treasured articles of sculpture.
